Pressure Washing the Deck. I saw the previous post and it fell along the same question I had of pressure washing the deck? I just finished scrubbing the deck with a brush and some softscrub and found myself thinking that maybe just maybe it would be okay to pressure wash the deck? If the pressure was set low enough not to damage anything but high enough to take the winder black spots of dirt off, would there be any downside to using a pressure washer? I realize I would have to stay away from the ports but I think the pressure washer would sure get in all the hard to reach places. Thoughts, cautions, experience from others would be appreciated. PS - This is my first Hunter. Just purchased it 2 weeks ago and putting it in the water next week.

I have done so for years but only low pressure and only on the non-skid. It is relatively ineffective on the smooth gelcoat compared with traditional cleaning methods in my experience. Also, using soft scrub may work but it is too abrasive for me and with repeated use, will score the surface to the point you will never be able to restore a shine.

My response would be a HIGHLY qualified OK. Low(er) pressure is important!
I like the suggestion to use it only on the non-skid and stay away from any and all hardware attachment points. You didn't say what boat you have so I'll assume it is an older style that does not have imbedded plates for hardware attachment. That means the decking is cored and imprudent usage of a pressure washer can blow out the caulking and cause leaks . . . . direct experience here :-( Good Luck.
