Pressure Washer

Good Morning, I'm considering using a pressure washer on my boat.*! First is this a good idea and secondly if it is what size pressure washer would you recommend using?

Yes, with care.

They work well aboard on hard surfaces such as hull and rigging. They are great for washing the dirt out dirty dock lines, sheets and halyards. It will remove a lot of the oxidation from faded gelcoat and vinyls. 1200-1400 psi is plenty big enough and yet small enough to minimize risk of damage...lighter too. Keep away from wood and fabric as even the lower pressures can do considerable damage.

They will blow out the caulk/sealant in seems, around windows, fittings, etc if not careful.

If there are chips in the gelcoat a pressure

washer can make them very much worse if used improperly.
