I am deciding on when/whether to pull the trigger on flying down from Houston to Port Charlotte, FL (Ft. Myers) to get serious about a boat that I have been looking at for some time. Before I do this I want to see if I could get any local assistance with a walkthru to ensure that the pictures, descriptions, condition of the boat are representative of the actual condition. As you all know pictures & descriptions can often tell a completely different story than the actuals. So rather than waste the time & money would anyone be willing to donate an hour or two to provide some unbiased on site feedback?
Based upon this feedback I will arrange either arrange a formal survey and take it from there or walk away.
Please send me a private message if this is of interest and I can provide further details.

Cheers,

Ian.

Not that I can do anything to help, but curiosity is about to kill this cat (or frog). Care to tell us which one?

The boat is currently at Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage (on the hard) on Appleton Blvd in Port Charlotte - hope that helps/makes sense.

That is where....

...our Endeavour is right now and we should be there . If the eye operation Ruth had last week is successful long term hopefully we are there the 1st of March but that would be the earliest.

It is on the northwest side of Charlotte Harbor and about 20-30 minutes from what I'd consider the center of Port Charlotte. Quite a ways from the airport at Ft. Myers (google the address). It is a great yard and we really like it. It is located about...

....8 miles in on the freshwater canal system above after going through a lock and it and All American Covered Boat Storage are located near the bottom left arrow above.

Some of these guys aren't real far. If one of you go there and have the time I could use a couple pictures and measurements on our boat to help me make a mount for a manual windlass that we bought and have here at home. Don't let this interfere with the OP's request though,

Hello Ian and Sumner,

As luck would have it.........We are in the final days or the repairs and updates to our Oday 272LE, Breezin' Up. She is hauled out at All American Boat Storage that is next to Charlotte Harbor Boat Storage. We will be there Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday (launch day).

If we can be of any help to either of you.......?

I havent checked out the SBO store as they might have this invaluable book also.

With clear step-by-step drawings and instructions, Don Casey explains how to recognize problems--both surface and hidden--and how to separate cosmetic flaws from serious faults".

Thanks Phil I responded to your PM, but forgot to say that the gate is locked at CHBS at 12 noon on Sat and at 4 pm on weekdays and locked all day Sunday (opens at 8 am). At least that was the hours when we were there.

People that have boats there come and go as you get a key to the gate and can live on the boat, so it is 'kind of' possible to get in at other times if some lets you in or out (don't get locked in).

If you get jammed up on time forget us as someone else will probably be there and thanks,

Sum

Thanks for the heads up Rich... I orded it... I'll bet it will be helpful for getting your boat it top shape to sell also...
