I wanted to pass along a tip I worked out while replacing my head system. Even though the new Trident hose is easier to bend it still was killing me trying to get it seated home on the hose barbs. So I cooked up this: Pre-expand it with a tailpipe expander tool, under 40 bucks from an autoparts store. Many stores "rent" these out. You pay full price on the way out but can return it for a full refund within 90 days.
Soap it up and insert it about 3/4 of it's length. Put a hose clamp around the end not in the hose to control that end's expansion so the tool won't flair the hose and pre-stretch it evenly. You only need to expand it to the dimension of the barbs, not very much. Remove the tool and EASILY slip the hose onto the fittings. Double clamp and your done with much less effort and the possibility of breaking something. This really saved me!

I think I'll stick with a blow dryer and K-Y

Warm the hose, lube the outside of the barb and the inside of the hose with the K-Y and slide the hose onto the barb. Simple, no risk of damage, no tools to "rent"... and it works.

For a Real Hose Job .......................

........... always have a hair dryer in hand.

2" wire wound exhaust hose couldn't be simpler to install once it's heated. :)
