pre EMERGENCY TILLER

Fellow Captains-
I have a 1977 33. No emergency tiller came with the boat. All the ones discussed so far in the Forum have the shaft exposed. On these boats it is under the cockpit sole.
Does someone have one? A picture? Some dimensions?

Have the same boat without an emergency tiller. Make one out of, I forget, 1 and a half inch or two inch galvanized pipe. In the form of an "L". It fits on backward with the horizontal leg to the stern. When you open the access cover you will see the top of the rudder post. It has a groove across the top. On the bottom end of the emergency tiller place a SS bolt that will fit into the groove. That's all there is to it, very easy. Here is a picture from the manual
