I think I would like to subscribe to Practical Sailor but I have never actually seen a copy, just excerpts. Does anyone have an 800 number or some other means of contacting them? Thanks.

Mike, I used to subsribe. I found the magazine interesting only if they were reviewing something I was about to purchase. I think their articles and reviews are great. What I'm doing is going on their web site when I'm going to buy something. You can download the relevant article for a fee of $5 or $10 and get only what you need. It's worked well for me. Practical Sailor reviews of Hunters

Can somebody check their personal archives of Practical Sailor and tell us how they have reviewed the Hunter sailboats over the years. I heard they weren't very nice to Hunter. I'm curious what they were critical about.

Michael O' of Clevland ..................

In going through my archives .......... it appears that they have savaged most every sailboat built. In thumbing through Practical Sailor's "Practical Boat Buying" vol.1 and 2, I see the Hunter 310 (which we own) received a positive writeup. It appears that most of their diatribes were directed at older Hunters as well as a few of the other older upscale boats. Regards, s/v Island Hunter

Well worth the $$

At LEAST once a year I save MORE than the subscription rate and I have the advantage of not buying/installing a piece of gear that will need to be replaced because it does not do the job or is not the best bang for the buck. Where else can you get all the pros
