Is anyone using a PowerTwist V Belt on their alternator? I have an M25 with the new alternator bracket in my '84 C-36, and I am unhappy with the off the shelf V belts. The PowerTwist belts seem like a good upgrade, but at over $30 with shipping, I'd like a "review" if it was available.

Thanks,

jv

I have read that they are not suitable for automotive use. Not sure why but I would think this also includes marine applications.

Is there some significant gain by using a "Power Twist" V Belt?
The standard V belt seems to work just fine and has a life expectancy of at least a dozen years. At around $10 that makes it a very economical choice.

We have used them on machines with manualy adjustable pullys to set the speed and there is just not the right size belt

BUT they cost a lot of money and have no other real use when you buy the correct size belt and there a PITA to use without the tool
