I have a 222 on the river above Philly and I'm considering Powercleats for my jib sheets. I have a friend that has a Hunter that has these cleats for all his lines. Does anyone have any information that may help me.

I considered the same thing but...
reconsidered after thinking about some helpful advice found here. The power cleats have a closed line passage. Imagine having to quickly release the sheet under load to re-gain control only to have it hockle and jam. With a cam cleat (without a bail) you could just snap up the line and let it fly out. The jib lead block would still retain it enough so not to loose it out of reach. On the 222 the distances between the lead track and the winch doesn't give a lot of mounting options. I believe the Powerclutch has a limited entry angle. You probably couldn't have it and use the winch. A cam cleat on a swivel base would probably work just forward of the winch and would be able to handle the changing angles as the lead block is adjusted fore and aft. I'm going this route this season. Rob

Watski Winchers
If you have winches for your jib sheets you can put Watski Winchers on them and you will no longer need any cleats. With three wraps around the winch it will self-tail, to cleat you wrap half a turn into the top slot. About $35 a pair and they work great on a small boat.
