pourable foam

Anyone with any first-hand experience using pourable foam-ie;U.S. Composites or any other brand? They come in varying densities from soft to hard to fill voids for varied applications. Thanks, Ron

that stuff is amazeing! got some from a local taxidermist, $50.00 for part a & b. usd it to fill the voids in a home built tri-hull. used a hacksaw blade to trim it flush before putting on the lid. haven't tried the hard set foam yet. it will push and cause buldges if confined.

I bought the 8lb foam from http://www.uscomposites.com/foam.html; amazing stuff. This was to provide structural support for a deck and it's working very well. It was easier to mix/apply than I expected. You do have to make sure you have a contained area to pour the liquid as it's pretty thin when mixed and will run off quickly. The web site provides load ratings and I can attest that it has good adhesive properties as well. In my application, I had to trim the final foam set using a saw and a Dremel Multi-max with scraper tool.

It's worth a few ounces of the product to do a trial run in a test environment so you can get a general idea of the rise time, expansion characteristics, etc...
