Potomac River Overnighter

I have my boat slipped in Aquia Bay and want to do an overnighter with a friend in a couple of weeks but very new to cruising grounds. Anyone have some favorite anchorages (quiet, no bugs). that they would suggest - plan to take 2 to 3 days max. thanks.

I'm just up the creek at Quantico. As long as you are out of the commercial traffic (yes Martha, there is commercial traffic on the Potomac) you can anchor just about anywhere your rode is long enough. Tobacco Cr. and most of the creeks south of the 301 Bridge are good also.
They all have bugs but it is not bad if you stay 50+ yds off the shore.
