Try out your pole with your sail
I could give you a rough measurement as to where to position your padeye (as I installed a 1" t-track and movable car on my mast [1975 O'day 22] so I could avoid the measurement problem) but my best suggestion to you would be to try out the pole with the headsail you intend to use WITHOUT the padeye installed on a light day so that you can see for yourself where the best place will be to attach the padeye. In other words, for different size headsails I believe you will find that the padeye should be in different places for optimum sail shape and performance--some sails will benefit from a higher location on the mast; others will fly better from a lower position. As such, since you will have a single fixed mount attachment point, I suggest you try the pole with the sail and mark your mast where the pole should go when the sail shape appears best.Good luckRich Lemmler, Jr.s/v TIME BANDIT1975 OD22
