I need to replace my head ports. Does anyone know of windows which do not open? I own an O'Day 25 and the windows slant leaving water standing in the drain which does not drain and also the windows leak. I have searched for small windows which do not open, but no luck. I also need a new rope to pull my swing keel. I have never seen these ropes which have a length of cable spliced at one end for attaching to the keel. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

D & R Marine can get you the windows and a pendant for the centerboard. Use the link to get the number, and call him. I recently bought a pendant from him, and they one he sent me does not use the cable. Apparently, he's confident enough in the "newer breed" of lines to forgo the cable.

What does the connection look like on the end where it attaches to the swing keel? I am going to have to swim under my boat and try to attach it. Would this be an easy task? Is any other hardware required? Could I use just a simple rope or one with a loop spliced at the end?

Haven't Gone Under the Boat Yet

My replacement is a spliced line, with a shackle about 2" long, with a pin about 1/4". I wouldn't recommend trying to go a cheap route. My experience was that until I got some experience, trying the cheap route cost me more money and time. Still does at times.

Self Draining Ports

There should be small channels or holes in the bottom of the window frame to allow rainwater to drain. Mine are original, and the holes were clogged on one side so I enlarged them slightly with a drill. I can tak pictures if you need. I believe Beckson makes self-draining and opening ports. I think if you put in non-opening ports, you will really regret it on the next hot day.
