Does anyone have any information on ports used on Ericson 35's built in 1976. My opening port in the head leaks excessively and I was looking for a replacement. This port is a "slider". I am presently trying to rebuild it, looking for parts, but if I could find the manufacturer I would rather just replace it. Thanks Jim

If the leaks are from between the port frames and the cabin sides you can take them off, clean all the old bedding compound off, clean, rebed and reinstall. THat's the only way to cure leaky ports. Now, if the frames or glazing are broken replace the ports. If there is any soft and/or wet wood in the cabin side trim or the backing framing you should replace it. None of this work is difficult, more of a pain. If the ports are fixed plexiglass be extremely careful when removing as they will snap like a dry twig if you put too much stress on them (like I did)and replacment is not a cheap date. Start be using a sharp blade to cut a small strip, then lift and cut, lift and cut all the way around. Have fun

Thanks for the reply. I've actually reseated most of the other ports on the boat and as you said more of a hassle the hard to do. The port in the head is a "slider" and was leaking around the glazing. After criss crossing Houston I found glazing that fit and held the glass tight. I took the port apart and installed the glazing and you guessed it...it still leaks. I am still trying to find out who manufactured these ports and if they are still in business. Thanks again.
