Checking on replacing my 6 ports on my 1984 Hunter 31. Looking at both Bomar/Gray and Beckson. What confuses me is the both have a 2" spigot, and they say to trim it down to fit even with the trim ring . Has anyone really done this,or just let it stay the way it is. My ports measure 1 1/2" and stick out about 1/2" from the trim ring. Thanks Dennis Duncan

Check out New Found Metals
They have nearly direct replacements for the Bomars at a very reasonable price. They also have glass lens. I have seen them installed in Steve Weinsteins H'33. They are very nice. They are nearly flush on the exterior.

New Port Windows
I recently replaced all six port windows on my H31 with the Matrix windows from New Found Metals. They are great windows, namely, they don't leak; however, it is a lot of work bacause they are bigger. They also look very nice. Regards Ed

Beckson will help
I bought some Beckson ports from a boat shop. I then found out that they ordered in 1" thick ones when I needed 1 12/2". I called Bomar and they allowed me to send them for an exchange. They gave me 2" ones and for a one time set up charge of $20 they trimmed them to 1 1/2 with their machine. Money well spent. Jeff

Port sizes
I looked into the Matrix ports. They look great, but they only come in two sizes. The ports on my 1983 H30 are three different sizes. I called them to find out if there was any other sizes in the works and they said not at this time. If enough people ask for different sizes they might move on it sooner. Let them know what you are looking for, they are very friendly and have a great product.

So Jeff,what did you end up with? Bomar took a Beckson port in on exchange? It is good to know they will trim them down. Thanks Dennis
