Most of the opening ports on my H34 are leaking now and that project has moved to the top of my list. Can anyone tell me what to expect on this job? Is there a gasket or something in there that can be replaced without having to install new ports? Thanks, Bruce bchase3@aol.com

Try the Thrifty Mariner

Had the same problem with my portals leaking. It was the gasket from the plexiglass window to the plastic frame. The gasket had rotted out. Got 25 feet of the gasket @ $1.25 ft and replaced it. Dry as a bone!

Depends where

Hi Bruce, A lot depends where your leaks are, you can remove the ports and re bed them with a high quality silicone sealant, or if the glass to frame joint is leaking, you can replace the gasket materials. between the plastic ports and frames. Beckson/Gray can supply either product for repairs. John

Gaskets

Our opening portlights leak at the gasket. Just ordered and received new gasket material. It comes in a long strip that you cut to fit. Waiting for warm weather to install. Our portlights are 3000 Series by Bomar. I had picked up their catalog at the Annoplis Boat Show. That helped identify the model of the portlights. Bowmar was very helpful on the phone, (603) 826-5791. They even told me I could get the material cheaper than their $3 per foot if I bought from Boat/US or other discounter. It's a special order from the retailers, but was easy to do since Bomar gave me the P/N. Carl Reitz S/v WINDROSE

Thrifty is the one

Bruce: Thrifty Mariner is the place to get the gasket material. They are charging $1.25/ft and Bomar is charging $2.75/ft. I too am in the market to do this. Scottie: Do you need any glue or do you just r/r the old gasket?
