Portlight gasket replacement

My gaskets are dry rotted to nuthin. I measured the groove in the bronze ports and it is 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch exactly. Do I go up 1/16 of an inch and jam it in or do I buy exactly 1/4 by 1/4 and let the compression hold them in place?

Gaskets for ports are very brand specific, what ports do you have?

I think specialty plastics or something like that, in Conneticut or Mass or somewhere like that, memory a bit fuzzy
