I own a 1984 Hunter 31 & need to replace several of the opening portholes. Does anyone have any advise on the type to get that what will match the existing holes in the cabin? I need to know the size & brand to buy on a limited budget (I haven't removed any, so, I don't know how big the holes are). Also, should I get the ones for angles up to 15 degrees or 15 degrees & over. Thanks.

They are Gray, now Pompenette ports

Check the archives, there is a ton of information on this issue. Also, the Pompenette web site is very helpful. http://www.pompanette.com/bomar Hint: order them through BoatUS Special order desk, if you are a member. They get a better price that the manuf will offer you.

You don't need to replace the entire thing

Dennis: Bomar/Gray sells just the lens if that is your problem. Unless the frames are broken why replace them. Also if you are looking at a completely new ports try New Found Metals (www.newfoundmetals.com). They make a chrome/bronze port that is a very close replacement for the original Gray port. They are slightly more money but would be worth the investment if you can swing it. The windows are made of real glass, so no more fogging.

Beckson too

Beckson "rain drain" models were exact replacements for the port light hatches on my '88 35. They appear to be identical to the Bomar plastic ports. www. beckson.com.

portholes for 84 H31

Dennis; I have 1984 H31 and replaced the lens only on all 5x12 opening ports. They were cracked and dificult to see out of. The origional ones are tinted but here in Vancouver bc I replaced them with the clear lens to allow more light. the part to order is Bomar GP907-29 port lights for the clear lens. You can call Pompanette inc, they handle Bomar, Gray, at 603-826-5791 or fax at 603-826-4125 att Jennifer Porter. regards/Mac sv Kitkatla 1984 H31
