The cockpit port side porthole from the quarter birth is broken (as you can see from the picture). Please help me find somewhere to get a replacement! Dimension: outer: 16 1/2 x 6 1/2 inner: 14 3/8 x 4 1/2 (the inner rim is 1/8 to 3/16 thick) Please email me if you have any ideas. junk@touchup.com Thanks, Marty

Mine too.

Yours looks a lot better than the one in my cockpit. I replaced all the others with bronze but the q-berth portlight is an odd size. Never actually looked for a replacement yet. Only place I know to look is Pompanette. However it would be easy to install one close in size but larger. Enlarging the hole is pretty simple. Then expoxy the edges before installing. Then how do you prevent future breakage? It is too easily stepped on. See: http://www.pompanette.com

Port

Marty; You can cut the port sticking out beyond the frame, flush with the frame. Mark a line around the area sticking past the fram, remove the port, cut it at the mark then tre-install it. It will now be flush with the frame and not stick out to get damaged further. Mac

Maybe Mac.

But I doubt it. I think Marty's picture showed the spigot(frame) to be OK. The problem was the small lip that the screen fits behind. And that lip keeps water out. In my own case the spigot is broken off all the way into that lip. Cutting the spigot flush would prevent further damage but the portlight must still be replaced.

Bomar/Grey

Your port is a standard Bomar/Gray. You can still get them on special order from West Marine or Boat/US. Check their catalogs for the correct size or call Hunter. I replaced one just like that last year.

Thrifty

I think there is a place called The Thrifty Mariner down in Fla (Tampa?) that 'stocks' lots of sizes of these things...
