I have a portable generator much like a Honda 2000 that I tried for the first time.I also have a galvanic isolation system and it did not like the fact that there was no ground.I used the 15 amp to 30 amp converter plug that came with the boat.Is there something that maybe I didnt hook up or something I need to hook up to establish a ground between the gen and the boat system? The gen has a 3 prong outlet but it seems like the ground was missing.Any ideas from you electrical guru's? Thanks

But I have used it all the time with the same system. Everyone I know does. There was a discussion about this some time ago with an explaination concerning the Honda system and why grounding was not necessary, but I don't have the technical discussion at hand. You might prowl the archives and get lucky. Rick D.

Fuel Leak Issue

Just to get everybody wound up - I've been reading some posts on other sites (ham radio & RV) where they say the EU2000i can sometimes leak fuel from the carb area. While most people say they haven't had a problem with this there are some that say they have. One can do some Google searches and come up with hits on this. One site mentioned about a screw in the bottom of the carburator that was loose - aparently this is a screw that can be used to drain the carb. Perhaps the factory tester may not have screwed it in all the way??? Another poster wrote his retailer said it was probably a sticky float and to drop it onto the ground, from about 6-inches, a couple times to loosen it up. Since RVers and ham operators probably have a safer situation, being on land, it would be a good idea for boaters to be VERY alert and careful - keep a watchful eye on things, especially when runing one of these units out on the water.

Look in the manual....

for the generator. My Honda 2000 manual addresses this issue, and, if I remember correctly, says don't worry about it. Jeff
