has anyone had experience with the Aqua Cal Krusin Kool portable AC unit (water cooled)? Good or bad I'd like to hear before I buy.

Got one - Love it

Last spring we moved down south into the heat. The Krusin Kool was a quick fix on the AC problem. The only problem we saw was that it liked to be cleaned every week but other than that it keeped our h40 cool. Mike sends S/V Camelot out

AC

Have one for my H290. Unit has only one speed for the fan and has a noisy level about the same as Ho Jo motel room window AC unit(you can live with it). The AC draw is about 6 amps with a kick in amp of about 18-20 amp. You need to check and make sure you have and area to set the unit and run the water hoses out of the boat. The hoses are about 15 ft in length. We run ours though a side port(which we plug with soft foam), and set it on deck/and or settee using the table for support and to hold the unit in place when sailing. It does weight 48 lbs., but has casters and two handles for moving around. The unit does not turn the boat into an ice box, but does the job. I think it is better than try to put one on the forward hatch. When not really using the unit, it fits in the dock box with out taking a lot of room. I feel it is easier to hump the unit.

A/C help?

I am the owner of a Capri26 and would like any suggestions on keeping the interior cool over the summer months. What I have read on this thread so far seems to be all larger vessels. Any suggestions for a 26'?
