The Thetford kit has 4 screws 1.5" long. Is it safe to use that long a screw to go through the heads floor on my 1981 Mac 25?

If they don't go into the hull.
I would go a bit shorter so they don't protrude through the other side of the floor. Drill smaller pilot holes first. Put some tape on your drill bit at the depth you need so you know when to stop drilling. (Measure from the tip.)

Sure do not want to go through the hull. I could probably get by with 1" screws.
