port washington to mystic

I keep my boat at bayside marina in little neck bay..I am about one hour from manhasset harbor-port washington..I put that in the title because I figured more people would be familiar with manhasset harbor..I was wondering how far/long a trip would be to mystic, ct???? I think it would probably take about 3 days each way...two days to get east enough in long island..and then one day to cross the sound into mystic ct..is that accurate?? I would actually rather do a 2-3 day trip..is there any harbor/area that I could cover round trip in 2-3 days???? I really havent explored very far at all yet..It takes me 1 hour to get to the opening of manhasset harbor by motor..I figure it should take another hour to get to hempstead harbor..and then maybe another hour to get to oyster bay area...is that accurate???? any suggestions would be welcome..I am looking to explore a little bit

Hard To Say

The best way to estimate trip time is get some charts and measure distance and than what does your boat motor at and sail at,than give or take on wind and currents.
If the wind is not good and how long to motor to where your going,you never no what the wind is going to be and so how long to motor to harbor to harbor plus the current is a factor also and than plan your estimated trip time.

Takes me about 9 hours to motorsail from Stamford Ct to Mystic Ct. Stamford is approximately accross the sound and a little west of Northport. The last good harbor on the Long Island side is Port Jefferson. At that point you might want to work your way accross the sound as there are many more harbors on the Connecticut shoreline. Westbrook might be a good stopping off point. Alternatively consider crossing the sound early on and you will have plenty of places to stop on the Connecticut shoreline

Plum Gut

It took me about 5 hours to cross from Greenport through the gut to Mystic seaport.
