Hi all,
can anyone tell me how when running the head sail rope down the port side , through the pulley then to the winch the rope gouges the gunwale. Starboard side works fine. Do i need a pulley that sits higher? Other Columbia boats ive seen seem to have the same set up, but im yet to see one with sails up. Some also seem to run 2 pulley. Any advise would be appreciated.
cheers

My only thought is that the genoa block is so far forward that the sheet doesn't have a clean run to the winch. You might try attaching a second block to the toerail with a fair run to the winch. Don't know why this would only happen on the port side.

i will give it a try

Thanks Larry i will try putting a second block on the rail. should i use a block that sits slightly higher. also the winch turns clockwise therefore that sheet comes over the the edge of the boat rather than on the starboard side it runs on the outside of the boat.
i will let you know how i go!!
