port lights removal

what is the best sealant to use when reinstalling port lights. is the outside port light trim just
a cover plate screwed on ? who makes any correct replacements if needed?

Best sealant i've found so far is a good marine grade silicone. And I have had almost no luck finding nos trim parts (replaced my nav lights altogether cuz I couldn't find parts to repair them). Sometimes ya get lucky and 1 will show up on eBay or you can post here as to what you need.

The light is 3 peices, the base/socket, lens and cover(directional) plus 3 screws. The contacts are replaceable with generic parts or:

portlights are bomar. they can be purchased through the sbo store or through pompanette. the outside part is trim but also seals off the cutout with marine grade silicone added.
