our 1983 C-30. Looks like there was a coating on the frames and it is partially wore off. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Aluminum paint? They look almost to bad to polish. They were painted over with white paint that was in bad shape and did not match the fiberglass. I stripped off the paint on the port side hoping to find a decent frame but not so. Thanks Chip

Brushed Aluminum Look?

Chip, One thinng you might try is taking off all the flaking paint and go back to bare metal. You could use bronze wook (not steel wool, it will leave rust stains), maybe 4-600 grit wet/dry sandpaper. After you get down to bare metal, you could put on a few coats of clear laquer or something similar. I would think that would look far better than trying to match the gelcoat color. Just a thought.

Good idea, I did not think of that,

it does sound like a bit of work but would like nice. I’ll try one port light first. -CW
