I went thru this long process of rebedding 5 opening ports to stop some leaking. It about destroyed the carpeting in the aft locker and berth. We removed and replaced the carpeting and revarnished the woodwork. Everything is fine, for now. Has anyone used the "port hoods" over the opening ports or they a waste of time. The angle on the top sides of the 34 is pretty severe and I wonder if the hoods would be of any use. If you do use them and like them what kind and where can they be purchased. Thanks. Craig

Toe Crunchers

I had them on a Hunter 31 years ago. They did help with some of the rainwater but not spray. They provided extra shade in the cabin with the ability to let in air even in a mild rain. BUT they will eat your toes when working on the foredeck! (Also the plastic on them will discolor slightly over time, UV yellowish twinge.)
