Opening port drains
The later versions of the opening ports have a drain in the bottom. Insects and dust will plug these up over the course of a season. Ream them out from the outside with a flat-blade screwdriver just small enough to fit into the drains. If there aren't any drains, the only solution is to use a towel inside, under the ports, when opening them.
