I just bought a 28.5 and will be sailing it home to Lexington next week any ideas how long it will take? Iam hope no more then three days thanks Craig

Craig, you really should plot your course and calculate your speed and then you'd know exactly how long it would take you. Knowing the area a little, I would bet it would be easily made in the 3 days that you have budgeted, weather permitting. ( And who knows what to expect this time of year)I'm actually planning the trip from Monroe to Lexington with some power boat friends later in the summer and budgeting 4-5 hours, so let me know how it goes. Do you have your layover spots picked out yet? Too bad you can't hang around and enjoy a fun weekend at Put-in -Bay!! 3 days is plenty (usually). 1st day Port Clinton to Windsor LakeView Marina. 2nd day-Windsor to Sarnia Yacht Club Basin. 3rd short day-Sarnia to Lexington Remember, the Detroit River will be slowing you down. The St. Clair River will really be slowing you down as you get close to Lake Huron.Unless you have a great wind from the southwest, it's a long slow motorboat ride until you get to Lake Huron.

If you mean Lexington Michigan ...... With favorable weather this is do-able. I do not know how much you want to travel each day so that is an obvious factor but here's some stuff to consider.... 1. sailing time to east end of Lake Erie and the Detroit River???? 2. 8 - 10 hrs or so (if I remember it right) up the river to Detroit (current is a big unavoidable factor) here 3. couple hours to cross Lake St Clair 4. 10 Hours up St Clair river to Port Huron (current is a big unavoidable factor here too) 5. 20 miles up Lake Huron to Lexington (4 hours) plan well -- there are limited places to pull over for a night's sleep. Also the water is VERY cold right now and will significantly lower the "apparent" air temperature. Bring you WINTER clothes. Have a great trip Bill Murray S/V Good Faith 1995 H29.5
