I am the proud owner of a poptop cover for my 86 C22. I have put it on just to see what it looks like and how it fits. I have never used it. The PO said he didn't either. I was wondering how it has worked out for others. Ours has no screening only windows that don't open. It seems like it would close up the boat pretty tight. The zipper on the companionway could be left open a little I guess. Thus far we have had good weather and bug free conditions where we have anchored out, so I have had no desire to use it so far. In the Fall when it is cooler it is very likely that it might see use. It might also be used if we get rain while anchored out. Beyond opening the forward hatch some, will we need to ventilate the cabin in some additional way? Pete Staehling

It's OK in the Rain

Pete: It's OK in the rain, but it is heavy, and takes up a lot of room. I haven't used ours in many years, but do plan on making a similar one from nylon with screens for next summer. I sail from Middle River too. Below is a link to my son's webpage, so maybe you will spot us sailing soon. Aldo

Hi Aldo

Aldo, We are at Maryland Marina slip 252. If you happen to be at the same marina stop and say "hi" if you see us. For some reason I couldn't open the link to your sons site. I did manage to get to the rocket part of the site but not the sailing portion. Pete staehpj1@home.com
