pop top

help please. just bought, need a tip on raising the pop top. i am old but not that old. seems too heavy for me to lift.whats the trick???thx

What boat do you have? I had a Macgregor 22 with a pop top and used my back to lift the pop top allowing my hands to be free to place the support bars in place

Not sure how the 26 is set up, but on a 23.5 you have to have the sliding hatch opened (slid all the way forward) before you can lift it up.

The slider hatch with the swing up pop top are the same set up for all the older water ballast boats. There are two stainless steel rods that swing down one on each side that will support the pop top which at that point you can move those arms foward to lower the forward portion of the pop top. There is a trick to learn to move those arms by swinging them with the pop top moving up and down.
