Pop Top Lift Assist

From my limited study on the gas charged struts, it seems that there are two sizes. At least in this length and strength of strut. The smaller one as in my link, and a larger one. Sorry I don't recall the actual dimensions, this has been a several month project for me. I actually bought the larger diameter struts from a local RV supplier when I first started this project. It was very obvious that they were not going to fit.

I used 90lb. 20" struts.

Two 40 lb,14 inch gas struts from RV parts shop $14 ea Four end fitting $5 a pair. Can raise and lower with one hand (at 77 and only 125 lbs). With PT up haven't had to use the mast screw even with canopy on. Remove PT arms bottom screw to access nuts on lower fitting. Instal with GS cyl uppermost. O-123 sent some good photos of his installation these photo are mine.

Aaahhh...so you guys with the D's (like my S) mounted them between the bottom of the strut and the strut itself, not the pop top roof...different than the 22's and 25's...good deal...I was trying to resolve some of that...

Here is a video of my 26D Pop Top Install. I installed them right to the struts. The are over kill at 90 - 100 pounds but they will hold up the mast in travel position. They are harder to lower and will auto raise if not locked down when traveling.
