Pop top gas strut install

On another thread someone was asking about adding gas struts. I used 90lb. 20" struts, WM sells 2 types of mounting tabs, straight and angle, I used 2 of each type. I mounted the lower bracket where the original j bolt bracket was located. make sure the struts don't interfere with the support arms when folded down, and locate the upper mounts so the struts are vertical when the top is up.

which boat model were these struts installed?that 'hoop' does not look like a 26...I wonder if the same strut will fit a 26D?

Timo;Thanks for the info and pix. Would like to do same on my 26D. Does WM = West Marine.? Couldn't find struts or mounting brkt on their on-line catalog. Need to call them for paper catalog. The struts should be relatively easy to find but haven't seen those neat little mounting brakets anywhere. Additional info would be appreciated.

David,Try the following link. I got mine there in the spring and found them at quite a bit better price than WM- but isn't everything? The straight and angled bracket is available there too, although I picked mine up at NAPA
