I have a 1995 Catalina MKIII and last summer, the hot water heater started only producing a dribble of hot water at the faucet. Any ideas?
Thanks
Hal

1. Clogged screen at faucets - easiest fix: unscrew it and look

2. Faulty faucet

3. Clog in hose from heater to faucet

4. Broken heater

5. Faulty or broken pressure pump

6. leaks elsewhere in system

7. Empty water tanks

8. Clogged water tank vent

Sorry, can't get to ten. :)

Not sure I understand "a dribble" ? Do you mean no pressure at the faucet or no hot water ? These are 2 different issues. If you have pressure at the cold water faucet you should have pressure at the hot water faucet. Works on the same principle as your home hot water tank.
If it's a pressure issue, turn off pressure pump, disconnect hot water pipe at the tank outlet and turn pressure back on for 2 or 3 seconds. If you have a gusher of hot water your problem is between the outlet and the faucet. Should be simple to figure out. If on the other hand you have no hot water, then you need to find out if it's the electrical element that is busted, or your heat exchanger with coolant coming from the engine.

By Dribble, I mean that I get pressure with cold water, but little to none with hot.

Isn't the same pump used for both hot and cold water? If the cold is pumping then it's got to be a clog in the hot water line somewhere. Maybe test the water pressure before and after the heater to rule the heater itself out. If pressure is low coming out then it's your heater. If pressure is good coming out then you can switch the hoses at the faucet to see if the hot side of your faucet is clogged.
I guess if your shower, bath and galley faucets are all low hot water pressure then it has to be the heater.
