My wife and I are having a great vacation leaving the snow behind in NY. My problem is Im sitting on the beach watching all of these beautiful sailboats sailing by us wishing I was out there too! I wish I brought my boat with me but that would have been a long tow. What an amazing place to be sailing, you are so lucky to have such steady wind and beautiful sunshine. I'm going to walk around the local marina and get my fix of boats this morning.

Jerry, I spent a wonderful weekend on Keuka Lake once...in fact one of the best EVER!
I plan to take ours up there someday too!
As far as being a long tow...I look at it this way...thats why I got a trailerable sailboat in the first place. If the trailer has good greased bearings...good tires...go for it!

but everyone I have talked to around here in Pompano, do not know where any sailboat marinas are?? Can you bellieve that? One guy said I have to go down to Miami before I find a marina with sailboats. I went to a Parts store here in Pompano that had a very small selection of sailboat hardware, I asked him where the boats were, and he said he didnt know of any marinas around here? I see alot going out of the intracoastal, but they must all be private boats that are docked at private homes. What Im looking for is a used boat yard or a marina with used boats on it to get an idea of what is available. Take care and thanks everyone for your replies.

Go on-line to Southwinds.com It's a regional sailing mag that'd have plenty of E coast options for small boat rentals. Activecaptain.com is another on-line resource to try but may be diluted with powerboat info too. Many beach resorts rents Hobie cats which might satisfy your lust for a wind driven buzz.

There are marinas in Ft. Lauderdale. however, most boats are anchored behind private homes or condos. There is, however, Lighthouse Pt <Marina. Bob.
