We have used polyglow for three years now. It works best on an older boat that has some or bad oxidation. It is very watery so it soaks in and refills the gel coat areas oxidized by the sun. It replaces the sacrificial sun protection that has broken down in the gel coat. It's watery properties also make it easier to apply. There is no real worry of brush strokes. It is important to put as many coats as your boat requires to build up a shiny surface. The first coat will look hideous as most of it is absorbed by the gel coat. After the fourth coat the surface will look like new. Make sure you clean the boat very well before applying. When you are done your boat looks just like it would if you wetted it. If the boat was dirty you will get shiny dirt. Their preparation cleaner does a fantastic job as does on and off and other very strong marine cleaners. We think that it is a fantastic product and does a great job on our 1983 Hunter. We retreat our boat once a year. Make sure you pick up the TLC cleaner. It is the best cleaner for poly glow that doesn't remove the coating. If you get a really bad stain use the poly glow remover take off the poly glow and the stain and then retreat just the area.

Personally I'm sold on PoliGlow. I give my thirty footer two thin coats in the spring. Doesn't take more than an hour and a half at the most, and it looks absolutely great all summer. I think it would last longer than that but it's worth the effort to keep it up and shiny. A bottle goes a long way and will last several seasons.

Forget the wax
I went to PoliGlow a couple of years ago and couldn't be happier with the product! Made my boat look so much better others thought I repainted. Ellis

not on areas where you walk
I use it on vertical surfaces in the cockpit ond on the cabin sides but not on places where I might have to walk.

I don't like it
I personally just don't like the look of the PolyGlow shine, it looks fake. I don't know how to describe it, it just seems like the boat isn't really shining, like the shine is "painted on" or something. On new (to me) boats First, I use a color restorer (any brand) and a buffer, then I use Maguires (#54 I think) and a buffer to put 2-3 coats down, 1 or 2 more along the waterline and the bow. Actually, I have 2 buffers, 1 to apply and 1 to buff off. On following years I use a 1-step cleaner/wax (I prefer Dolphinite brand) instead of the color restorer. It may be alot of work but the shine radiates from the gel coat, it doesn't sit on top of it. I get a lot of compliments on my hull. Tom s/v Orion's Child
