I am replacing the mid-cabin hatch on my H28.5.
The new Bomar Hi profile hatch which is slightly larger has a support rod & dog centered under the hatch. This presents a problem because I had planned to migrate the Nicro 1000 solar exhaust vent to the new hatch. The shaft of the vent wants to occupy the same underside space as the support rod.
So I though I'd just make a "spacer" about 3/4 inch thick and 7" round disc of smoked poly and drill out the the center to accept the shaft of the solar vent, and sandwich the disc between the solar's dome and the hatch surface.
I've called a couple fabricator but none do this kind of small job anymore and they don't even have a leftover tailing piece I can buy from those "big jobs". There's gotta be a better way than to buy a very expensive large sheet and you still gotta find some one to cut a 7inch diameter disc out of it. I could use my old Milwaukee keyhole bit saw from the original hatch install to cut the center shaft hole. 3/4" will take a while to cut but I could handle that.
Does anyone know who/where I can get this polycarbonate "donut" made/cut without spending a fortune? Preferably in NJ/NYC metro area.
Thanks for any guidance.
