Has anyone ever used a gelcoat restoration product called "Poly Glow"? Practical Sailor gave it rave reviews (twice). I am considering using it to restore my faded hull but it would be good to hear from somebody who has actually used it! Thanks to all in advance.

Fiberglas restorers

I own an 84 31' hunter and I tried waxing and polishing with fair results, and arms that were ready to fall off. This past year I used Poli-glow, less than one bottle and 5 or 6 coats. My hull looked brand new with very little effort. Its applies real easy and it lasted the whole season. I will use it again this year. Richard

GOOD EXPERIENCE

I bought a Poly-Glow "kit" at the Annapolis Sailboat Show this fall based on the recommendation of Practical Sailor. So far I've only done 1/2 the hull, but the difference is nothing less than spectacular! I (had) a chalky hulled 85 H31 and even the ladies who wax/compound boats in my yard have stopped by and complimented me on the dramatic change in the appearance of the boat. As for long term durability....I'll answer that in 6 months and again in a year. In my talks with the dealer, he recommended a maintenance coat every 6 months and I will follow his advice. The way I look at it, even if it only looks really good for a year or so I'm way ahead...$50 or so for Poly-Glow or $3000 for a topside paint job! Tim
