Just tried Poliglow on my 1987 Catalina 30 & there is no comparison to Island Girl as I have tried both & I would give Island Girl a 5 & Poliglow a 10 & it is much easier to apply. Boat now looks like it just came from the factory WOW what a shine.

Does it work on non-skid deck areas?

Hi, I just bought a Catalina 22 and found that the previous owner left me all kinds of stuff including full bottles of poly-prep and polyglow. I haven't used it yet, though. Question: Does the polyglow stuff work on non-skid decks? The directions on the back of the bottle don't say anything about it. Thx, Chris I.

Don't Use PoliGlo on Non-Skid

Poli-Glo is essentially an acrylic polish. I would guess that the purpose of your non-skid is to prevent skidding. As a result of these two facts, I wouldn't apply PoliGlo to your non-skid unless you want to make your non-skid into high-skid. PoliGlo is intended for topsides (upper hull and (perhaps) the sides of your doghouse (cabin). Don't use it as a floor wax and put it on the decks, but most importantly DON'T APPLY IT TO NON-SKID! sounds alot like acrylic floor wax

I used to use acrylic floor wax on my pearson 30. the hull was very dull ,nothing would make it shine.I watched this old timer with the same problem paint this clear liquid on his hull and the boat just glowed.I asked him what he was using and he said "my wifes'kitchen floor wax.So of course I ran to the super market, bought a bottle and tried it.Worked great, did not have any water stains on my bow from that point on & the hull finally had a shine.Just be aware that My cost at Costco was about $6.00 For a full gallon of commercial acrylic floor wax and the same cost for the remover.Big diff compared to $54.00 for a quart of poliglow, next time your at the boat store or at a boat show, open a bottle of that and any similar product and take a whif,it will smell just like your wifes acrylic floor wax,did that a few times and embarresed the guys trying to sell the same stuff for insane mark ups,
