Any comments good or bad. What is everyones preference? I need to get rid of some oxidation on my deck.

although I haven't tried Island Girl, I must say I am very impressed with Poly Glow. One major thing to remember though, surface preparation is key to a good finish!!!

I saw Island Girl demonstrated
on the funkiest patch of fiberglass you've ever seen. The result was excellent and the effort-to-result ratio was remarkable. I'm a fan, because of the results and because it doesn't add another coating to the top of your gelcoat.

Poli Glow for me!
I have used both, and in my opinion Poli Glow wins hands down. As previously mentioned the prep is the key. The Poli Glow finish was spectactular when completed and is still lasting after 2 years in the summer and winter. I applied 1 maintenance coat as recommended this spring and the entire boat looked as good as new. I personally will never use anything else!

Poli Glow over Island Girl
I've tried both products and prefer Poli-Glow. The application was easy, the shine lasted all season (last year). I have already applied a couple of "refresh coats" this season and it looks like new.

PoliGlow
I just applied PoliGlow and am very happy with the results. I took me awhile to get her clean but after 3 easy coats of PoliGlow my boat looks like NEW! I got insider help from a guy at my club who is a distributor.

Tried both also
I tried Poli Glow on the hul and Island Girl on the cabin topsides. I prefer Island Girl as the gel coat looks almost the same as orginal, whereas the Poli Glow on the hull side looks good, it does not have that same "gel" coat look. Poli Glow is easy to apply. You have to work at it with the Island Girl products, but the end results are worth it.

Poliglow fibre glass finish
Have not tried Island Girl, but can recommend Poliglow highly. After stripping old wax (with Poliglow's product) apply a half dozen or so coats of Poli. Easily done with a sponge and just wiped on in thin even coats. Dries rapidly, so do need to work about a 4 ft. sq. area at a time. And you do need to apply a couple of coats about every 6 mos. (depending on sun and element exposure)But here in N.C. where the sun is mercesily hot in the summer, a 6 mos. reapplication is a must. The results, however, are unbelievable and days of hand rubbed or machine buffed wax applications are over. Try it. You'll like it.

Oxidation on the DECK
Andrew: You original question was regarding the removal of oxidation from the DECK! Is this correct? I do not think that any of these products should be used for that purpose. The Island Girl products can be used to clean the surface but I would not use their wax or PoliGlow on the deck. PoliGlow is basically just acrylic floor polish. You will have shinny deck but you will be in the drink when you slip off your boat. Some other options for the deck/non-skip mite be Bon-Ami or Softscrub. I personally like Island Girl too for the smooth surfaces. It actually restores the finish and can then be waxed with their product or other products. My only reservation about PoliGlow is the removal or what happens when it starts to yellow and peel.

I have used the product for 3 years now and have NO signs of yellowing (white gelcoat), due to the UV inhibitors incorporated into the product. We have one design racers at our club that us it on their (smooth) decks with no problems. Also, there is a big difference between Acrylics and Polymers.
