Dirt pickup

Poli Glow worked great on the hull of my old C22, where it kept its shine all season. I also used it at first in my cockpit - not on the non-skid deck, but on the vertical fiberglass surfaces. It seemed to pick up a lot of dirt on the side of the cockpit seats, where we would place our feet during heeling. This dirt would not come off with soap, and I had to use the Poli Glow pre-treatment cleaner. You might have the same problem on non-skid, where you get foot traffic.

Poli-glow on everything

We have a 1991 Hunter 43 which was in charter service for 10 years and was chauky white. We cleaned with the cleaner and did the whole boat. The non skid takes twice as much poly-glo but it didn't affect any traction or dirt stuff. The suntan oil and diesel that stained the fiberglass before now washes off with straight Joy or WD40 and doesn't affect finish. This is after 5 months in the Caribean. I just ordered enough for one more coat in the fall when we go back south. Good luck. Reid.

Poliglow isn't "White" ??

Mike, Reid: I just ordered Poliglow, and tried it on a 3 foot square area on my boat (followed ALL instructions). Although oxidized and chalky (normal for a 5 year old boat) the hull was still fairly white. However, after a few coats of Ploiglow, the hull now looks off white. It is DEFINITLY shiny and reflective, but also definitly not white anymore. Any thoughts or experiences ?? Jeff

Clear Coat?

The "white" hull of my 21-year-old Hunter 33 is still "white" after using Poly Glow. You said that you prepped according to the instructions, so wonder why the finish isn't the color of the gelcoat. The Poly Glow does have a milky white color in the bottle, but it is so thin going on that I cannot imagine it affecting the final color. Perhaps this is a question you should ask Poly Glow. I have found their customer service to be very responsive. See the link below for Poly Glow and give them a call. Ken Palmer, S/V Liberty
