A few days ago I had applied Poli Glo to my cockpit except in the non skid which is a painted on product. Well I guess I wasn't paying much attention and I discovered I had dripped some on the non skid. Thick drips of Poli Glo tend to have yellow tinge so these spots are obvious on the white non skid. Short of buying a big bottle of the removal product that the company sells, is there something else that can be used to remove a few small spots? I tried acetone but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Thanks, Manny

this may help

maybe you can try a solution of tsp and bleach and see if that helps. The poliglow cleaner that comes with the kit smelled distinctly like Simple Green to me (I'm sure there are other additives), but that could be worth a try. What product did you use as a non-skid coating....I'm curious?

polyglow

Buy acrylic floor wax remover - it works and it's cheap.

Thanks!

I'll try both and see what happens. The non skid on my boat is the West Marine branded non skid paint. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I applied it. It looks pretty good. It doesn't seem to like Poli Glo though! Actually, I know your not supposed to apply it to paint.... Thanks, Manny

Dan, I'm in Neshaminy State Park which is in Croydon near Bensalem. I sail on the Delaware River. Just above us is Bristol on the PA side and Burlington on the Jersey side. I'm not too familiar with the area, I actually live pretty far away (about 55 miles) west. If I sail down the river a couple of miles I get a real pretty view of Philly. Once I get the boat fixed up, I'm hoping to find a nice slip down at the Chesapeake Bay. It gets tiring tacking every two minutes on the river... Manny

Manny you are so right

We kept our boat just south of you in one of the dredge harbor marinas, and you are right you can only go back and forth. We have since moved our boat to the Chesapeake, and are very happy. Hope to see you down there soon. John S/V Sanctuary II

PG removel

Floor stripper is the correct anser to this one....... not the bleach answer. P.Glow is based on a acrylic floor finish that is stronger and has UV protection. Good luck and be safe... safty glasses!

Black Streak Remover

Buy it at Walmart instead of the morons at West Marine. I found out by accident that it easily removes Poliglow and Vertglas

Thanks all!

Black streak remover sounds like it would be pretty useful on the boat, might have to look into to that. John, hopefully I'll be down in about two years. I'm not far from Dredge Harbor and the Cherubini factory. I'd like to go there some day and check it out. Manny
