asked this last year and had two responses. just bought new 135 north sail jib, I need to know if expecting this boat to point up to 40 degree true is possible? in 12 knot true, what can be expected? Am I chasing my tail and due to hull and keep design I will never get that close? Would a sabre run rings around my 400?

40 True?
I doubt that a C400 will point up to 40 true with any speed. 40 true puts you in the low 20's for apparent angle. I suspect the best VMG will be closer to 45 true. In general, boat's don't point worth a darn with a 135% The spreaders and the leech of the sail interfere with each other. The boat should point higher with a 150% or a 110%.
