It works great. You can buy the unit, made by Sharpe (and someone else, also) for about $119.00. For a fee of $9.95 per month, you can make an unlimited number of calls to an 800 number, thus toll free in the U.S. You hold the unit up to the telephone receiver, push a button, and it sends any emails that you have stored into your unit, and downloads any that have been sent to you. You then can read them, and type any responses. Their internet site is rather clear, and you can also buy the units online there. www.pocketmail.com

Pocketmail is wonderful!

Hi HOW Folks, We used a pocketmail device to send our Bahamas cruise updates back to our US contact, who edited them and posted them. What a nice guy. The unit we bought was a Sharp TM-20. That model may have been replaced, but is the only one we have seen "in the field". Pocketmail is a private email system and several other vendors make pocketmail hardware that works with the system. We bought ours through an organization called Women Afloat. They had a good discount program. We saw lots of the little devices in the hands of cruising folks all over the Bahamas. If you take a pocketmail over the horizon, make sure you call them first and get the international access number. You can search for the Sharp web site and then look for the TM-20, or whatever replaced it. You can also find the pocketmail site and they will tell you about the entire program.

Pocket Mail

We're looking for a source for a Sharp Pocket Mail. I thought Staples carried them, but in a phone call tonight they never heard of it. Any suggestions? Bud Cook
