Great Video Terry. As usual a fun time. You captured fun sailing breezes and sunshine. Special NW weather days.

Your sunset in Parks Bay captured a rare moment.
Lenticulor Cloud Sunset.jpg

LENTICULAR CLOUD
They are also known as altocumulus standing lenticularis. These clouds are also very rare to watch. They have an appearance of stationary lens-shaped clouds and are usually formed at very higher altitudes. They usually are at 90 degrees to the direction of the wind direction. The reason for the formation of these clouds is the moist air when flows through the mountains resulting in the formation of waves on the downwind side and some of them take the form of the wave cloud. The clouds can be dangerous for pilots of large planes who generally avoid flying over these because of turbulence above them. The cloud formation is often confused with a UFO.

Thanks Terry for sharing your annual cruising video. Reminds me that another year is gone. And thanks John for the educational tidbit from 33:40.

Terry gets out there and sails the waters.

In doing so he comes across fun and interesting experiences.

The Cloud formation during a Parks Bay sunset, the young eagle thinking about flying - Named Ernie,

and the sailor who did not check his charts or the tide tables before he threw out an anchor...

This is what happens when you anchor in 9 feet of water and there is a 10ft tide change.

Yup. Just wandered out of the channel, not paying attention, or something. Happens to most all of us at one time or another. That is if you spend any amount of time on the water.

The image comes near the finale of Terry’s video. Looks to me the sprit is made to hinge so that the owner can deploy the anchor.
