understand some of the newer boats are getting away from hoses and using CPVC piping insted. could take city water pressure when at the slip, won't spit or soften up due to hot water, can connect under the sink with fittings just like in your house and finally its cheaper and will last for years. Anyone have any thought on this? tks

pvc is great. however never use without a seacock to isolate it from the ocean. also not the best in an engine room where a fire may destroy it.

Shouldn't be connected to a seacock at all

In fact, hard pipe shouldn't be connected directly to anything else that's fixed or rigid either...'cuz a hard shock will crack it. Use enough hose to provide protection from shock and flex.
