lahlia cal cruising 46 marina del rey
Hello fellow sailors

Hello
I have a cal cruising 46 built in 1968. This gem has an original Perkins
4.236 and she is equipped with a 12 gallon raritan water heater
Which is connectible to an Engine coolant

Does anyone out there have experience in plumming the Perkins 4.236
Coolant to this water heater?

The ports for the coolant are nearly
ImPossible to access

What is the best way to do this?

Is it possible with this older 1968 Perkins 4.236
Is this advisable? What special tools and precautions must I need

My boat is kept at marina del rey CA

Thanks in advance
Edwin

I'm having that experience this week, swapping the water heater for a new one. The PO did me a favor by having valves plumbed on the Perkins supply and return lines. I turned off the valves, drained the hoses into an empty jug, and removed the tank. I'm replacing the hoses as well to eliminate any issues from them.
