Oday 15 georges mills, NH
Folks, My wife and I purchased a (very) used 15 foot O'Day and we have enjoyed sailing it on a small lake in New Hampshire. Last Fall when it was on the trailer, I had an opportunity to "plug leaks" that were in the bottom near where wthe centerboard leading edge was located. We went from having to bail the boat all the time to "never"...life was good. This past weekend we were sailing and having a lot of fun. got up the next day and there was some water in the cockpit and it hadn't rained! Curious, I looked in the two access ports and the boat was full of water to the tops of both! Also, I noticed water 'bubbling" up from one of the two "self bailing" fixtures located in the floor near the stern. What happened? I'm suspicious that these self bailing devices "failed" and instead of letting water out they are letting water in! How do these work? How can I fix them? Can they be removed/replaced?
Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.
Dan and Sandy
