I just purchased a Used Stainless Steel hinged Plow Anchor. The Numbers on it are HKG9KGS, and on the other side is 9KGS. Can someone tell me who makes the Anchor, and How many Pound anchor is it? It came off a (powerboat),but I'm going to use it on my 35' Hunter Sailboat as a Lunch Hook. My Danforth is just too awkward to handle even though it is an Excellent Anchor, and also won't fit on my Bow Roller. Thanks in Advance, Dave

My best guess is 9 kilograms or

about twenty pounds. It should serve well.

CQR knock off

A kilogram is 2.2 pounds so multiply 9 by 2.2 = 19.8 (or 20 pounds as the previous poster suggested). You CQR knock off is a "working anchor" for a boat your size and will be okay up to around 30 knots of wind, after that deploy your danforth as well.

The best anchor....

..for a lunch hook is the Fortress. I use an FX-7 for a lunch hook. Its small and really light(aluminum) and holds fantastic. Its so light(only 4lbs or 1.8kg) your kids could anchor your boat. I use this little guy on my 35.5 all the time because its so easy to handle and holds so well.

Brand Name

Thanks for the information. Do you know the Manufacture of the Anchor? It had supposedly a $6oo price tag new,and I paid $200. Was curious if the deal was good.

Price

A new 20 lb. CQR goes for $440 at Defender.com. A knock off would be less, but you probly did OK. Too late anyway. Sink it and enjoy your lunch.

Whoops

You said "Stainless Steel," right? That is another matter. I would melt the thing down and sell it as ingots - you'll do well :)

Stainless knock off

I saw a stainless steel CQR knock off at a consigment marine store I had debated on buying. The price started at $350 but has come down (it goes down every day it isn't purchased). A stainless steel anchor traditionally is much more expensive than the non-stainless product. However knock offs are usually cheaper than originals, so its hard to tell the value, but at $200 you did well.
