The sliding plexiglass cover on my 1994 H26 has sagged in the center, allowing water to leak in when it rains. Has anyone ever removed the two teak end boards and turned it over so it has a crown instead of a sag ??

He did.

This gentleman did it on his h23 and is quite pleased with the results. http://www.teamseacats.com/hunter/update8.htm

Takes some patience

The only difficult part is getting the wooden strip that’s on top of the plexiglas (forward), caulked and back in place – ‘cause you can’t get your fingers between the top of the Plexiglas and the fiberglass hatch cover. And you want to be certain it is caulked or it will leak off the forward edge of the glass. But it can be done.

Take it off!

In order to rebed the teak strip, I took the plexiglass apart from the poptop. It is pretty easy with two people. Here is how: 1. Slide the plexi hatch back and raise the pop top. 2. Prop the pop top open with something sturdy (I used a boat hook). OR tie it off to the boom, above, using the pad lock ring as a tie off point. 3. While a helper holds the plexi from falling down, unscrew and removed the wood side piece on ONE SIDE ONLY. 4. The plexi can now be removed -- it is heavy. Reverse the process to put it back after fixing. I used 3M 5200 to glue the strip back on in addition to the screws. Also put a bead of caulk on the forward edge and extended the bead to the edge of the plexi. The wood stops a little short. Good luck and fair winds, Tom
