The water pump for the sink on my boat is not working. The fuse is good, but I can't locate the actual pump to check it! The person from whom I bought the boat doesn't return my calls, so I assume that he doesn't know. The boat probably has had multiple owners, and I doubt that the pump is original equipment! I looked in the engine compartment, tried to see how to get into the cabinet that contains the sink, took the two small drawers next to the sink out...no joy! Can anyone help me? I was never shown the "inner workings" of my boat (again, by the guy who sould it to me), and I was too ignorant to ask! I have learned alot by just looking, and asking the FEW sailboat captains at the marina, but there is a lot that I don't know!

find the water tank....

...it's most likely under the port settee. He did show you how to fill the water tank, right? It is probably on the opposite side of the tank from the fill cap. Or.... you can follow the hose from the faucet backwards. Or...you can track the wire from the breaker panel... On my C27 dinette- port side galley model a prev owner mounted it to a wood brace under the sink. It makes a bunch of noise, and it won't pump water when the tank is low, I hate it. If you have a good system that uses a pressure tank (I doubt it) they're okay. Other wise I think they are a useless upgrade. I am going to convert back to a manual pump. It's simple and doesn't require a battery power. BTW how do you get water out of the tank if the battery fails unless you have a manual pump.

On my 1984 C27 its on the Starbord Side

On my 1984 C27 the water pump is on the starbord side. I would think that different years things are in different places .I had the same problem with my water pump last year when I got the boat. The old one was clogged up with Slime, Dirt and some other intresting stuff. I took it apart cleaned it all out. I also used a garden hose and washed out all the water lines. So far its seems to be working good this year. Good Luck Pat
